Dear friends and family. My mom Patricia Ann Krauter passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning Sept 12th. She was a very courageous, and strong woman. I am so proud of her for toughing it out as long as she did with all of her health problems. My mom was paralyzed as a result of an automobile accident in 1968. She regained the use of her arms after a year-and-a-half rehabilitation at Craig Hospital. She went on to be a very strong independent woman. After a tough first marriage she met my dad and they got married and had me in 1978. She raised me, became a homemaker and an incredible mother and wife, in spite of her incomplete quadriplegia. Mom volunteered at Colorado Cross Disability Coalition, working with them to ensure ADA compliance for wheelchair accessibility and disability rights activism in the community. She loved to cook (and was a great cook by the way). The last 6 years she endured some more health setbacks and the loss of her husband and my father, Kenneth W. Krauter. Again, in spite of her quadriplegia and tracheostomy tube, she was able to come home for 2 years after a five year stay at a long term care facility. Even though the doctors said that she would most likely never make it home, she did it! My Grandma, Aunt and her closest friends say that whenever mom was told that she couldn't do something, she proved everybody wrong and even did a little more. I'm so glad that I was able to spend the last couple years being able to help care for her. She always had a smile! The caregivers said it was a joy to work with her. They confided in her, and thought of her as a close friend and mentor.

Mom, I love you mom forever and always.
Your son Jason.

Patty is survived by her son, Jason , mother Carrol O. Bauer, sister Alice Miller, brother William Bauer and brother-in-law Bill Krauter. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, father Paul Denney Bauer and brother Paul Denney Bauer, Jr.
