Joe journeyed to be with the Lord following a courageous battle with cancer on March 29, 2015.

He was born in Golden Gate Canyon, CO and attended schools there and in Arvada. He married Nancy Sandberg on March 10, 1956 and was the father of Stephen B., Joseph G. and Debora G.

Joe worked for Sundstrand Corp. for 37 years as an engineer and ended his career traveling world wide as a Field Service Engineer. Upon retirement in 1992, Joe and Nancy moved to Buena Vista.

He was born in Golden Gate Canyon, CO and attended schools there and in Arvada. He married Nancy Sandberg on March 10, 1956 and was the father of Stephen B., Joseph G. and Debora G.

Joe worked for Sundstrand Corp. for 37 years as an engineer and ended his career traveling world wide as a Field Service Engineer. Upon retirement in 1992, Joe and Nancy moved to Buena Vista.

He served on the Board of Directors for 15 years for the Chaffee Co. Fire Prot. District. Joe was active in the Congregational United Church of Christ; the Arkansas Valley Car Club; Arkansas Valley Habitat Mission Group (Habitat for Humanity) and a lifetime member of the Buena Vista Optimist Club. Joseph and Nancy were honored with the Citizen of the Year for Buena Vista in 2014.

Joe is survived by his wife and children as well as his grandchildren, Joseph M. and Stephanie A., great-grandchildren, Harmony and Greyson, several beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
